Business owners, property managers and general contractors ask us a lot of the same questions.
Most of them come up before anyone talks about price.
Here are the questions we hear first from Bay County businesses, with straight answers from a commercial fence contractor that has been building here since 2019.
1. "Who Is Actually Going to Be on My Property?"
This is the big one for commercial sites. You have staff, customers, equipment and inventory on site.
Our answer: every installer is a W-2 employee of Mr. Fence of Florida. We don't use subcontractors.
The team that walks your fence line is the team that sets the posts and hangs the gates.
2. "Are You Insured, and Can I Get a Certificate?"
Most property managers and GCs need this on file before work starts.
- Fully insured: general liability, auto & workers' comp
- General liability: $1M per occurrence / $2M aggregate / $2M products-completed operations
- Umbrella liability: $3M per occurrence / $3M aggregate
- Certificate of insurance available on request
See our company credentials page for the full list.
3. "What Fence Is Right for My Site?"
It depends on what the fence has to do. Security, screening and curb appeal each point to a different material.
- Security and budget: galvanized or vinyl-coated chain link, with barbed wire or privacy slats when needed.
- Open view and a clean look: ornamental aluminum for offices, storefronts, pools and entrances.
- Screening: vinyl or wood for dumpster, equipment and service yards.
Our Panama City commercial fence page goes deeper on each option.
4. "Can You Work While We Stay Open?"
Usually, yes.
We plan phasing, access and safety around your operating hours, so customers and staff can keep moving while the fence goes in.
If the site needs to stay closed off during construction, we also install temporary fence panels.
5. "How Do I Get a Price?"
Commercial pricing depends on footage, height, fabric, toppings and gates. So we price from a site walk, not a guess.
- Send the scope. Drawings, specs, a bid invite or a simple description of the site.
- Site walk. We walk the fence line with your team and note access, utilities and gates.
- Written bid. Materials, footage, gates, schedule and price in writing.
Our published starting price for chain link is $21/ft, and our minimum project is $1,000. See our Panama City fence cost guide for more.
6. "Do You Handle Submittals and Specs?"
Yes. We work from your drawings and specifications.
We provide product data and shop drawings when your spec calls for them, plus a certificate of insurance.
7. "Does a Commercial Fence Need a Permit?"
Often it does. Rules differ by city and county.
When a permit is required, we guide you through it and build it into the project plan. Our Panama City fence permit guide covers the basics.
We also call in 811 utility locates before we dig.
8. "What About Gates and Access Control?"
Gates are where commercial fences earn their keep.
- Walk gates, double drive gates, cantilever and slide gates
- Many gates steel-framed in our own shop
- Slide, swing and barrier-arm operators with keypads and card readers
See commercial gate operators and access control, or visit our gate division, Mr. Gate.
9. "What Happens After the Install?"
We finish with a walk-through and a punch list.
Every fence we build is backed by our Lifetime craftsmanship warranty.
10. "Have You Done Work Like Ours?"
We have completed more than 200 commercial projects across 31 cities since 2019, including industrial yards, warehouses, apartment communities, parks and public sites.
We don't name private commercial customers, but you can browse real installs on our Our Projects map.
